Bank manager held

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Fort police have arrested a senior manager of Syndicate Bank, Damodaran, on charges of swindling money of Rs. 7,30,000 from the bank’s currency chest at Fort branch. A statement issued by the police said Mr. Damodaran, who had been in charge of the currency chest since it was opened in 2005, had been spiriting away cash from the chest on a regular basis. The police registered a case and began investigating the crime following a complaint by Syndicate Bank’s senior officials.
