HYDERABAD: Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said the committee constituted to inquire into the allegations against former Andhra Cricket Association secretary V. Chamundeswarnath submitted its report to the government. Since the committee had no power to register cases under relevant sections, the matter was being referred to the Vijayawada police as a case had already been lodged there. The police would investigate into the issue and register cases under appropriate sections, she added. Vijayawada Staff Reporter writes: Additional Director-General of Police M. Ratan, who was appointed by the Home Minister to probe the allegations against Mr. Chamundeswaranath, submitted his report to the DGP on Wednesday. Based on this report the government could take a decision on allowing criminal proceedings against the cricket administrator. Mr. Ratan interacted with several women cricketers under the purview of the ACA, and also the present and past administrators and recorded their versions in camera. General bodyThe ACA will hold its annual general body meeting here on July 26, where Mr. Chamundeswaranath will be given an opportunity to defend himself against the charges of financial irregularities, tampering of the bylaws of the ACA and ‘misbehaviour’ with women cricketers. “The meeting will also give a chance to women cricketers to express their feelings,” said ACA president G. Ganga Raju.
