Bandh in Vemgal

KOLAR: Vemgal town in Kolar taluk observed a bandh on Friday. The bandh, called by the Nagarika Horata Samithi, demanding creation of Vemgal taluk, was total and peaceful.

Traders in the town downed shutters in support of the demand while Government Degree College remained closed. Banks and government offices too remained closed. Vehicular traffic on Kolar-Chickaballapur Road was hit owing to road blockade put up by protesters. — Staff Correspondent
