Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the Vice-President of India, is among five authors who were on July 24 awarded the Goethe Medal by the city of Frankfurt. The medal, first struck in 1932 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the poet’s death, is awarded to those who have given special services in the cultural field.
