MYSORE: Chamundi Hills, an important pilgrimage centre in south Karnataka, will be developed comprehensively on the lines of Tirumala-Tirupati temples.

This was announced by Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa after he worshipped Goddess Chamundeshwari atop the hills on Friday. He was accompanied by Minister in-charge of Mysore district Shobha Karandlaje and his son and Shimoga MP Raghavendra.

Mr. Yeddyurappa told presspersons that action would be taken to develop the steps leading to the hills under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). It is learnt that a comprehensive development plan for Chamundi Hills has been prepared. The Chief Minister gave instructions to the district authorities to make arrangements for conducting the Dasara festivities in a grand manner.
