67 people identified for being given compensation Minister gave away cheques to 12 persons on Saturday Mysore: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural development and in-charge of Mysore district Shobha Karandlaje on Saturday visited the communal violence-affected areas in Kyathamaranahalli and interacted with the residents. Ms. Karandlaje, who visited the localities for the first time after violence erupted early this month, distributed relief cheques to the residents affected by the violence, on behalf of the Government. “The cheques were given to about 12 persons on Saturday, the cheques to the other affected persons will be distributed at the Deputy Commissioner’s on Sunday,” said Karnataka Exhibition Authority Chairman B.P. Manjunath. According to him, the administration had identified 67 persons for distributing compensation.“Barring those who received the cheques on Saturday, the remaining persons will receive the compensation on Sunday,” Mr. Manjunath, who is the city BJP unit president, said.
