VISAKHAPATNAM: The Ministry of Railways has decided to reduce the advance reservation period for Tatkal quota from five days to two days (excluding date of journey) from August 1. The Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair Division said in a press release that for journey commencing August 1, the advance reservation period would be two days by reducing advance reservation period gradually with effect from July 27 as given below: Reservation available for journey commencing up to July 31, the advance reservation period is four days on July 27; three days on July 28 and two days from July 29 onwards. For someone booking ticket on July 30, the reservation will be available up to August 1; for booking on July 31 up to August 2 and for booking on August 1 up to August 3.
