Three arrested for highway robberies

Attur: The police arrested three persons for their involvement in highway robberies near Attur.

According to sources in the police, many lorry drivers had complained that they were stopped and robbed near Attur on the Salem-Chennai National Highways.

Acting on the complaints, the police pepped up surveillance in the area and arrested the three persons from Manchini who were found to have been involved in such robberies.

They were remanded to custody.
