New Delhi: India was held to a 1-1 draw by Spanish third division side Unio Esportiva Castelldefels in the first friendly of its month-long tour of Barcelona in which national coach Bob Houghton experimented with almost every outfield position. Right-back Surkumar Singh gave India the lead in the 24th minute before Alberto Marcos Ramos drew parity via a spot-kick in the 56th minute. Houghton tried different combinations substituting nine players of the starting line-up after the breather except for Manju and goalkeeper Subrata Pal. Houghton used as many as 21 players out of the 27 he brought to Barcelona. — PTI
