Rs. 17.27 crore sought

Tiruvannamalai: The district administration has sent a proposal to the State government seeking Rs. 17.27 crore to mitigate water scarcity in the district.

Collector (in-charge) S. Viswanathan in a statement quoted Food Minister E.V. Velu saying that steps were being taken to get the amount sanctioned at the earliest. The Minister had expressed the hope at a meeting of district officials specially convened to discuss the water crisis.
