‘Adhering to code will ensure fair poll’

Correspondent

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Additional Deputy Commissioner Jannappa has said that adhering to the provisions of the model code of conduct will help the district administration conduct free and fair polling during the byelection to Kollegal (SC) Assembly constituency. Addressing a meeting of party leaders and district officers here on Monday, Mr. Jannappa said that no party or candidate should permit their followers to make use of any individual’s land, building or compound wall to erect flags, suspend banners, paste notices or write slogans without obtaining permission. Meanwhile, the commission has appointed Director of Integrated Child Development Services Rajesh Kumar as Election Observer to Kollegal (SC) Assembly constituency.
