Easy for Bishop Heber

TIRUCHI: Bishop Heber College and Jamal Mohammed College recorded easy wins in the league phase of the Tiruchi-unit of SDAT inter-collegiate basketball tournament here on Tuesday.

The results:

League: Bishop Heber College 69 bt St. Joseph’s ‘A’ 41; Jamal Mohammed College 53 bt PABCET 18.

Knockout:

St. Joseph’s New Hostel 36 bt Tamil Nadu Agricultural Engineering College 21; PABCET 49 bt St. Joseph’s ‘B’ 28; PABCET 46 bt St. Joseph’s New Hostel 38.

Selvakumar shines

S. Selvakumar took five for 27 as Vignesh Sports Club defeated Sam Babu XI by 132 runs in a Dindigul DCA first division league cricket match in Dindigul.

The scores: Vignesh Sports Club 226 for six in 40 overs (S. Ramkumar 85, M. Vinoth 60, P. Rajamohan six for 54) bt Sam Babu XI 94 in 22 overs (M.S. Muthuvivekanandar 39, S. Selvakumar five for 27, P. Krishnamoorthy three for 24).

Dindigul District Cricket Association will conduct district-level inter-school under-16 knockout cricket tournament for PSNA Trophy during the second week of August at PSNA Engineering College in Dindigul.
