Thumping win for Sivaganga

KARAIKUDI: Sivaganga scored a thumping 10-wicket win over Thanjavur and advanced to the quarterfinals of the TNCA under-19 inter-District cricket tournament here on Tuesday.

The scores:

At Karaikudi: Thanjavur 106 & 145 in 29.2 overs (Aravind 36, S. Vivek Athinam three for 28, R. Ramesh Kumar three for 39) lost to Sivaganga 221 & 34 for no loss in 3.4 overs (S. Vignesh 25 n.o.).

At Cuddalore: Puducherry 162 & 177 in 38.5 over (Surendar 51, Vasanth 35 n.o., Vivek four for 44) bt Cuddalore 135 in 50 overs (Vineeth R. Nair 32 n.o., R. Kugan 27, Syed Anis Ahmed three for 12) & 133 in 34.1 overs (Pradeep 56, Kannan 29, Sathyaraj three for 38).

At Theni: Kancheepuram 400 & 56 for one in 17.3 overs drew with Theni 156 in 49.1 overs (Karthik 96). Kancheepuram won on first innings lead.

At Vellore: Vellore 201 in 48.3 overs (T. Jagath Guru Prasath 65, V. Naresh Babu 39, M. Mohammed 7 for 80) and 144 in 38.1 overs (V. Naresh Babu 55, M. Mohammed 5 for 47) bt Dindigul DCA 135 in 40.3 overs (S. Ramkumar 33, V. Naresh Babu 5 for 34, R. Rohit 3 for 38) and 127 in 39.3 overs (M. Mohammed 46, B. Goutham 4 for 30, R. Rohit 3 for 45).

At Chennai: Erode 264 drew with Tiruvallur 189 in 64.1 overs (C.K. Deepak Kumar 68, R. Varun 36, J. Asaq six for 84, D. Boopathi Raja three for 42). Erode won on first innings lead.
