Prithviraj slams unbeaten 150

Coimbatore: A fine unbeaten 150 by M. Prithviraj saw Tiruchi take the first innings lead over two-time champion Coimbatore and enter the quarterfinals of the TNCA under-19 inter-district cricket tournament at the SNR Sons College grounds here on Tuesday.

After bundling out the host for 280, Tiruchi, thanks to a brilliant 182-run second wicket stand between Prithviraj and S.R. Mithun (88), signed off at 281 for two for the lead and a place in the last eight.

At Coimbatore: Coimbatore 280 drew with Tiruchi 281 for two in 77.2 overs (M. Prithviraj 150 not out, S.R. Mithun 88). (Tiruchi qualifies on first innings lead).

At Salem: Salem 445 & 182 for five in 40 overs (Arun Barathi 50, B.M. Rangaprasath 44, K. Gowthamraj 43 not out, Surendran three for 48) drew with Thiruvarur 76 in 31.2 overs (R. Amith Singh four for 17, T. Naveen three for 15) & 98 for five in 14 overs. (Salem qualifies on first innings lead). — Sports Reporter
