RIL names Yusuf Pathan and Jadeja brand ambassadors

AHMEDABAD: Two prominent cricketers from Gujarat who have also played in the national team, Yusuf Pathan from Vadodara and Ravidra Jadeja from Jamnagar, were on Tuesday picked up by the Reliance Industries Limited as its brand ambassadors.

The RIL Gujarat group president, Parimal Nathwani, a member of the Rajya Sabha from Jharkhand, welcomed the two cricketers at a special investiture ceremony here. The two join the RIL group five years after wicket-keeper-batsman, Parthiv Patel, joined the group.

According to Mr. Nathwani, both have joined the RIL on a long-term contract and will continue to work for sports and sportsmen. Their main job will be to identify budding sportspersons, particularly in the field of cricket, which may ultimately lead to the RIL forming its own team, he said.

Sponsor of the 1987 World Cup , the Reliance group also owned the Mumbai Indians team in the Indian Premier League.
