Way2sms.com to offer SMS facility in 13 languages

S. Sandeep Kumar

V.V. Raju

HYDERABAD: At 29, he messaged his innovative idea into the lives of 46 lakh customers loud and clear.

And his success touches mobiles in the country with great authority.

Facilitating over two lakh people to communicate free with their dear ones every hour across the country through his way2sms.com website, V. V. Raju has achieved what many other youngsters generally dream of at his age. In the process, he has given Hyderabad a new recognition.

“The thought of spending Rs. 1 or Rs. 2 to send an SMS provoked me to think of a service which would be free and helpful to people. That’s how way2sms.com came into existence,” he explains.

Despite hailing from a small village, Balnepally in Nalgonda district, he believed in making big at the global level.

Making internet the tool, he launched the website in 2006 with a team of eight members with a mere investment of Rs. 5 lakh. Today, he claims of making a turnover of Rs. 5.86 crore annually.

No easy task

Ever since the website came into operation, over 30 lakh users communicate with dear ones daily. But providing the service was not easy for him.

Soon after completing his post-graduation in computer applications in 2003, Raju approached Small Industries Service Institute to study different business models.

He then floated a company, Sunsilica Solutions Private Limited in 2004 and tied up with a couple of telecom companies to provide Value Added Services like ring tones, wall papers, etc. to their users.

Innovative

After working for nearly nine months, he developed the innovative way2sms.com website under the Way2Online Interactive India Private Limited banner and never looked back after that.

“Nearly 120 multi-national companies like ICICI, HDFC, Lenovo have tied up with us for providing the web to mobile messaging service to their users,” he informs.

New plans

This is not all. This year, there are plans to launch the option of sending SMS in 13 languages for the users and setting up new braches at Vijayawada and Mumbai to expand the business further, says Mr. Raju, who is one of the most eligible bachelors in twin cities now.
