NELLORE: Suspended Ponnur sub-inspector of police (of Guntur district) Ranganath Goud, on whom a case was registered for allegedly cheating a college student on the pretext of marriage would be arrested soon, said Guntur Range Inspector General of Police K.R.M. Kishore Kumar.

The victim gave a representation to Additional SP (Administration) A.V.Ranganath a couple of days ago alleging that the SI cheated her on the pretext of love and even entered into a physical relationship with her. But, the SI refused to marry me and got engaged to another girl last month, she said.

As the victim alleged that Mr.Goud had physical relationship with her, both the complainant and the accused SI would be sent for DNA test, said the IG.

“Already departmental action has been initiated against the SI, and we recommended for criminal action against him as per law.

The case has been transferred to Ponnur police station for further investigation,” said the IG.
