Joshi to lead KSCA XI

Bangalore: Sunil Joshi, C. Raghu and Sudhindra Shinde will lead KSCA XI, KSCA President’s XI and KSCA Colts respectively in the KSCA All India invitation tournament here from August 1 to 15. Meanwhile Robin Uthappa will play for Air India in the tournament.

The teams:

KSCA XI: Sunil Joshi (captain), Bharat Chipli, C.M. Gautam, K.B. Pawan, Manish Pandey, Deepak Chougule, Thilak Naidu (wicket-keeper), B. Akhil, Udit Patel, Vinay Kumar, A. Mithun, M.A. Mukka, David Mathias and Aniruddha Joshi. Coach: Sanath Kumar; Physio: Ramakanth.

KSCA President’s XI: C. Raghu (captain), C.B. Karthik, Karun Nair, Amit Verma, Sunil Raju, Devraj Patil (wicket-keeper), Stuart Binny, K.P. Appanna, S. Aravind, N.C. Aiyappa, M.R. Darshan, P. Yogesh, Raghavendra Rao and D.V. Anish. Coach: P.V. Shashikanth; Physio: Vinod Kumar Jain.

KSCA Colts: Sudhindra Shinde (captain), Mayank Agarwal, K.L. Rahul, Kunal Kapoor, Pavan Deshpande, Vinayak Uthappa (wicket-keeper), Raju Bhatkal, C. Raghavendra, Abrar Kazi, Aditya Sagar, S.L. Akshay, S. Abdul Khader, Chetan William and Suraj Sampath. Coach: Mansur Ali Khan.

City XI triumphs

City XI emerged champion in the Shafi Darashah Trophy tournament here on Thursday, beating Bangalore Zone by 94 runs in its last league match.

City XI topped the field with nine points while President’s XI, which defeated Combined XI by five wickets in its last league match, was runner-up with seven points.

The scores: City XI 305 in 76.5 overs and 178 for eight decl. in 44 overs bt Bangalore Zone 131 in 43.3 overs and 258 in 60.5 overs (S.P. Manjunath 61, Mayank Agarwal 60, Sunil Kumar 27, D.V. Anish four for 81, K. Gautam three for 79).

Combined XI 201 in 60.4 overs and 262 in 61.2 overs (Sudhindra Shinde 86, S.L. Akshay 58, Raghavendra Rao three for 36) lost to President’s XI 195 in 74 overs and 272 for five in 51.5 overs (Sunil Raju 109, Nitin Bhille 67 n.o., Robin Uthappa 27, Abrar Kazi three for 98).
