Puneet follows in the footsteps of Mohan Lal, Sania Mirza and Hema Malini Malabar Gold opens its 29th showroom; police have hard time controlling crowd MYSORE: Commuters were hard-pressed to reach the suburban bus-stand here on Thursday evening, as thousands of fans of cine star Puneet Rajkumar assembled on B.N. Road to get a glimpse of their favourite actor. It became difficult for the police to control the crowd that had assembled. At one point of time, they were forced to use canes to disburse the mob. Puneet Rajkumar, who is the new brand ambassador for Malabar Gold, was in Mysore to open its 29th showroom. Puneet Rajkumar is following in the footsteps of actor Mohan Lal, tennis star Sania Mirza and dream girl of yesteryears Hema Malini, who were previous brand ambassadors. After inaugurating the new showroom, Mr. Puneet Rajkumar addressed presspersons and said that he felt honoured to become the brand ambassador of Malabar Gold, which had been represented by stalwarts of the film industry. He said that when Malabar Gold approached him to become its brand ambassador, he asked company representatives about its social commitments, besides business. He was convinced by the concern they were taking for the economically weaker sections of society and agreed to the proposal. “Besides the company’s reputation, it is the charity work they are doing by disbursing medicines and building houses for the poor out of the profits earned that attracted me,” he said. Mr. Puneet Rajkumar said that some people invest their life savings to purchase gold and there was a need to provide them quality at an affordable price. He felt that by purchasing gold, they would get the feeling of building up on an asset. His family members also convinced him that there was nothing wrong in endorsing Malabar Gold. Malabar Group Chairman M.P. Ahammaed said that Malabar Gold considered each sale as an everlasting relationship. By offering the finest products and warm service to its quality conscious customers, Malabar Gold kept its customers’ brand loyal. His company was committed to protect the rights of the customers and ensure their investment was safe, he added. The company’s co-chairman Ibrahim Haji said that Malabar Gold, had built over 1,000 houses since 1993 and set aside Rs. 10 crore for social service for the this fiscal.
