Water level

MADURAI: Water level in the Periyar dam on Friday stood at 124 feet (full level 136 feet) with an inflow of 823 cusecs and discharge of 1213 cusecs.

Vaigai dam had water up to 43.44 feet (71 feet) and it had an inflow of 779 cusecs.

The discharge from the reservoir was 41 cusecs. The Periyar-Vaigai credit was put at 3221 mcft.

Melur recorded 79 mm of rainfall in the region, followed by Chittampatti 65, Thaniyamangalam 57, Kallandiri 48, Andipatti 11, Madurai 9.2, Mettupatti 6, Pulipatti 5 and Thekkady 2.
