KOLKATA: The group led by President Jagmohan Dalmiya is set to retain power in the Cricket Association of Bengal, which saw its annual general meeting on Friday prolonged till late in the evening. The meeting was attended for the first time by the former India captain Sourav Ganguly, who livened up the proceedings with his observations on various issues related to sport in the state. Ganguly raised questions pertaining to youth development, team selection, accounts and overall development of the sport. The discussions, said to be held in an amicable atmosphere, went on for around two-and-half- hours. Later, when asked about a sting operation run by a local television channel about his restaurant in the city Ganguly said, “I have taken legal opinion and have had discussions with the police commissioner.” The channel in its sting operation reportedly claimed that unlawful activities were happening in the restaurant. — Principal Correspondent
