CHENNAI: Indian Overseas Bank overwhelmed Sports Authority of India ‘B’ 10-1 in the quarterfinals of the Finpro Sports Management hockey tournament at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium here on Friday. IOB led 3-0 at half-time. Earlier, Southern Railway moved into the semifinals with a 3-0 victory over Central Excise after leading 2-0 at the breather. Led by Arun Stalin, IOB began the goal glut in the seventh minute and went on to score at regular intervals. Stalin accounted for two goals while Iyappan slotted in three. Olympian Adam Sinclair was a little subdued and scored just one goal. Gopinath (2), Vinod Rayar and Albert John were the other scorers for IOB. The consolation goal for SAI was scored by Hyderli in the dying minutes. In the other quarterfinal, Southern Railway held the whiphand throughout, profiting from goals by Karan and Ganesh in the first half and Mahindra Singh in the second.
