RDS water from August 28 for kharif

Engineers to inspect modernisation works of Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme

MAHABUBNAGAR: The Irrigation Advisory Board (IAB) meeting which was held here on Saturday with Collector K. Damayanti in the chair has decided to provide water under Jurala project for 1,07,143 acres of ayacut during 2009-10 kharif.

The meeting also decided to release water from RDS (Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme) from August 28 for present kharif season.

Minister for Civil Supplies Jupally Krishna Rao, and Minister for Small-scale Industries D.K.Aruna were also participated.

Superindent Engineer Prakash Goud and Executive Engineer Ramanujam of Jurala project informed the meeting that C.C. lining works of right main canal and left main canal were completed and the works of distributaries were also completed.

Balance works

They said balance portion of the works will be completed shortly. Mr. Prakash Goud said that 4.309 TMC of water was recorded on July 16 and expected sufficient inflows to the Jurala reservoir.

After discussions the meeting has decided to provide water under RDS by August 28 and also decided to send a team of engineers to inspect the modernisation works of RDS.

Mr. Krishna Rao has instructed the engineering officials to complete the works by August 15.

The Minister also informed that to maintain 318.516 FRL at Jurala project inter State meeting with officials of Karnataka would be convened shortly. After the meeting speaking to the media persons Mr. Krishna Rao said that steps were being taken to provide water to certain ayacut under Four on going lift irrigation projects in the district by next rabi season.

Joint Collector T.Chiranjeevulu, Nagarkurnool MP M. Jagannatham, Alampur MLA Abraham, Nagarkurnool MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Wanaparthy MLA Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, MLC Jagadeeshwar Reddy and others were present.
