Police official arrested

TIRUCHI: P. Muthukumar, Sub-Inspector of Police attached to Crime Wing in Fort Police Station here, was arrested by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption sleuths on bribe charge on Saturday.
Unaccounted money amounting to Rs. 10,000 was seized from him. He was remanded to judicial custody and lodged in the Central Prison here.
DVAC sources said one P. Manimaran’s tailor shop at Singarathope was burgled last month.
He reported the matter to the Sub-Inspector, who demanded Rs.1,500 for registering First Information Report.
Manimaran reported the matter to the DVAC, Tiruchi, which caught him red handed.
