College included in list of options in web counselling It is the first integrated college in the district VIJAYAWADA: Apart from academic excellence, personality development and lot many related additional skills will play a crucial role in a student’s ability to survive and excel in the present day crisis the world over. At the Sri Vani Integrated College, which is the first integrated institution in the district, they provide enough facilities to encourage and develop as many additional skills as possible to mould their students for the industry on completion of their studies. It is given permission to offer engineering, management and pharmaceutical courses under one roof and based on the integrated concept under the JNTU, Kakinada. In the present web counselling, Sri Vani College is included in the list of options for offering engineering course in the four streams of ECE, CSE, EEE and Mech.E. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, college chairman Kolli Venkata Ravikumar said that all necessary infrastructure and facilities were developed at their 50-acre spacious college premises with the students provided with internet access through laptops. He said that the availability of video conference with experts from multi-national companies would be another advantage for the students. Economic crisisWith economic crisis threatening to lower job opportunities, the college management keeps in mind the need for giving additional advantage to students. They say that those with a good marketable skill-set will continue to be in demand and this is the reason why the students are being asked to acquire more skills than just confining to their subject knowledge. Being the first integrated institution in the district, the college will function with three schools imparting education in their respective areas of engineering, management and pharmaceuticals. Each school will run under the leadership of a dean and there will be a director spearheading the entire institution. In future, the integrated concept is expected to gain momentum considering the uses of teaching diverse courses under one roof.
