Gang attacks, robs lorry crew near Sankagiri

SANKAGIRI: An unidentified gang attacked a lorry crew and robbed it of cash to the tune of Rs. 10,000 and also took away the driver’s mobile phone near here on Saturday.
Police claimed that the heavily-armed gang of four stopped the lorry – which was proceeding from Pollachi to Gudiyatham – at a place near Sankagiri.
They attacked the driver Suman and cleaner and robbed them of the cash and the phone.
After committing the crime, the attackers are said to have fled under cover of darkness.
Investigation is on.
