ALAPPUZHA: Two persons were arrested for attempting to pollute the Vembanad lake by dumping animal carcass and waste into the waterbody here on Sunday. According to the Alappuzha North police, Ponnappan and Shahabuddin, the accused, were stopped by people living on the shores of the lake near the Punnamada Finishing Point when the duo arrived on a boat loaded with the stinking waste.
