Music programme in memory of Gangubai

BANGALORE: Swara Shradhanjali, a music tribute to legendary singer Gangubai Hangal who passed away in Hubli recently, has been organised here on August 5 by the Kirana Music Academy.
Noted artistes from Bangalore will pay their earnest musical tributes to the great musician, a release said. Ajji, as she was popularly known, led a simple life with her enormous musical fortune left by her guru, Sawai Gandharva. “Being a part of the Kirana family, it is our duty to remember her,” the release added.
Among those artistes who would pay tribute include Madhava Gudi, Parameshwara Hegde, Narasimha Wadiwati, Nagaraja Havaldar, Raghavendra Gudi, Govinda Rotti, Vyasa Moorthy Katti, Vishwanath Nakod and Muddu Mohan.
Congress leader H.K. Patil will preside over the condolence meeting and Mukhya Mantri Chandru will take part in the function at Kannada Sahitya Parishat in Chamarajpet. Details could be had from the Kirana Music Academy at 9449695911 or Raghavendra Gudi on 9448049661.
