YSR’s Friendship Day advice to Opposition

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has advised the Opposition parties to function as friends and not foes in the overall interests of the people of the State.

“We do not differentiate between yellow, red or white shirts. Our aim is to provide everything to all the people in the State,” Dr. Reddy remarked referring to his government’s commitment in extending Arogyasri, pensions and pavala vaddi scheme to all irrespective of their political affiliation.

“If only the Opposition also thinks on the same lines, there will be all-round development and we will feel happy about the good things that accrue to the poor,” he noted.

The Chief Minister wanted the Opposition parties to extend wholehearted support as friends and refrain from behaving like enemies, according to a press release issued from the Chief Minister’s office on Sunday.

Referring to the Friendship Day, the Chief Minister wanted the Opposition parties to be friends of the people. He noted that only when they cooperate with the government elected by the people, they would become closer to the people.
