TIRUNELVELI: The district secretary (city) of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) was attacked here on Monday. When V. Nixon (42) was at one of his offices at Palayamkottai, three persons, who came there at 10.30 p.m., picked up an argument with him and asked him to board their car. As Mr. Nixon was about to enter it, they assaulted him. One of them shot at him with a firearm and his associate attacked him with a sickle, causing two cut injuries on the back. On seeing the drivers at Mr. Nixon’s office charging towards them, the assailants sped away in their car.Mr. Nixon was rushed to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital.
