Bangalore: Two persons, including a rag-picker, were stabbed to death in separate incidents in the city on Sunday. Asma (25), a rag-picker, who was staying in a shed near Jai Bharth Tent, was found dead in a drain off 10th Main in Jayanagar 4th block here on Monday. According to the Jayanagar police, the victim had been stabbed before being strangled. The police have detained a few rag-pickers in this connection. In another incident, the Sampigehalli police have recovered the body of an unidentified man, aged about 40 years, from a vacant land near Rachenahalli Main Road in Anjandri Layout here on Monday morning. The body bore stab injuries and the head has been smashed partially. Some amount of ganja was also found near the body, the police said. ArrestedNine persons have been arrested by the North East police in connection with the murder of Bullet Ravi and Seena, who were hacked to death at a gymnasium in Yelahanka recently. The accused have been identified as Somashekar alias Shekhar alias Kunta Shekhar (31), Balakrishna alias Bala (29), Harish alias Meke Harish (25) from Allalasandra; Gajendra (25) of Attur; Ravi (34) and Naresh (24) from Geddalahalli; Punith alias Puni (24), Srinivas alias Bison Seena alias Emme (22) from Amarajyothi Nagar; and Prakash (27) from Chikkajala. Snake, tusks seizedWildlife and trophies, including a sand boa, have been seized from five persons after the City Market police raided two lodges here on July 29. Nine tusks, pelts of a python and fox are among those seized, which are worth about Rs. 70 lakh in the international market. The police raided a lodge on Seegebeli Road and arrested Annaiah (35), Krishnamurthy (27) and Dasa (22) from Mysore and seized the sand boa and skins. The accused had caught the snake in KGF and had also allegedly killed wild animals in Muthur forest near Nagarahole for tusks and pelts. The police also raided another lodge in Godown Street and arrested Thimmegowda (46) and Ganesh (22) of Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu, and recovered nine tusks. KilledOne person was killed and another seriously injured when a two-wheeler, on which they were travelling, rammed a compound wall on Magadi Road after the rider lost control. The accident occurred near Veeresh theatre around 11.45 p.m. on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as B.S. Raveesh (26) of Srirampura, who was riding pillion. The injured Girish of Laggere has been admitted to a private hospital. Both were returning home after visiting their friend at Dasarahalli.
