Windies finally tastes success

BASSETERRE (St. Kitts): West Indies romped to a five-wicket victory over Bangladesh in their Twenty20 match on Sunday, thanks to a disciplined bowling performance and four run-outs through direct hits.

West Indies, led by two wickets and two run-outs from Darren Sammy, limited Bangladesh to 118 for nine off 20 overs at Warner Park.

The host lost a wicket off the first ball of its reply, but Devon Smith (37 off 27 balls) and Travis Dowlin (37 not out off 37) took the team home with five wickets and 19 balls to spare. — AP
