Call to expedite construction of Indiramma houses

Kakinada: Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi on Tuesday called upon the officers of Housing Department to expedite the construction of houses under Indiramma scheme to ensure that the district stood first in the State. He said the targets could be achieved only when the Revenue Department and the civic officials concerned worked together.

Addressing a review meeting on housing at Court Hall here, Mr. Dwivedi said there should be no excuses for failure to complete construction of houses as per schedule. He instructed G. Satyanarayana, District Manager of the A.P State Housing Corporation to issue show-cause notices to deputy engineers of Amalapuram and Mandapeta and assistant engineers of Addateegala, Y. Ramavaram, Rajavommangi and Gangavaram for dereliction of duties. He warned of stringent action for lapses in execution of the scheme.

Mr. Dwivedi said a serious note would be taken of in cases of non-grounding of sanctioned houses as the scheme was delayed but it would also earn disrepute for the district.

Payments in respect of houses under construction have to be made promptly by the bankers, he added.
