Out at last: Kovvur MLA T.V. Ramarao coming out of Rajahmundry Central Jail on Tuesday. — RAJAHMUNDRY: Telugu Desam MLA from Kovvuru T. V. Rama Rao, was released from Rajahmundry Central Jail on Tuesday evening after he obtained bail orders from a court. As he emerged from the jail, he was received by TDP Polit Bureau member S. Venugopalachary and other party leaders including Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, Parasa Ratnam and Palle Raghunatha Reddy. Mr. Rama Rao was arrested by the police last month and lodged in the Central jail on charges of sexual harassment of students of the nursing college run by him in Nidadavole in West Godavari district. Flays YSRSpeaking to waiting mediapersons, Mr. Rama Rao said that he wanted to continue the legal battle against the government and that was the reason why he had surrendered to the police. Lashing out at Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, for ordering his arrest, Mr. Rao said that he did not expect the Chief Minister would stoop to such a level and harass an MLA belonging to the Dalit community. He said he would raise the issue of his arrest in the Assembly and state how his voice was suppressed, how he was physically and mentally harassed by the police and people in power.
