Chhetri for Scottish club

NEW DELHI: Sunil Chhetri could earn a contract from Celtic Football Club, one of the premier clubs in Scotland.

According to sources, the Indian striker was on ‘trial’ when some scouts from the Scottish Club saw him in action at Barcelona during the Indian team’s 1-0 victory over FC Santboia on Wednesday.

Even though the scouts were said to be happy with his show, a decision to recruit Chhetri would take a while to come. It may be recalled Chhetri had also given trials at Coventry City early this year.
