BERHAMPUR: Maoists murdered two persons in two separate attacks in Chadrapur block of Rayagada district in south Orissa in the wee hours of Sunday. Maoists alleged that the killed persons were police informers. The incidents occurred at Gudubali and Gadargudi villages. The dead were identified as Siba Sabar and Bibhisana Bibhar. According to sources, Siba had past links with naxalites. He was also involved in preparing posters, pamphlets and banners for Maoists. Siba was a resident of Balamguda village. He had come over to Gudubali village to meet his wife, who worked as a teacher there. At around 1 a.m., a group of 25 armed naxals dragged him out of the house. They took him to the centre of the village and shot him from close range. About ten armed Maoists reached Gadargudi village at around 3 a.m. They took out Bibhisana from his house. He was first beaten up. Then he was shot from close range on the road passing through the village. Following the incident, combing operation was started by the personnel of the CRPF and Orissa police in the area.
