Appeal for contributions to Flag Day fund

NAMAKKAL: Collector U. Sagayam has appealed to the officials of various departments and the general public to contribute liberally to the Flag Day fund.

Meeting

Participating in a meeting held here recently, the Collector said the government was spending the Flag Day fund for the welfare of the ex-servicemen and their families.

The government had fixed Rs. 30 lakh as the target for Namakkal district in the Flag Day fund collection last year.

But the district administration exceeded the target and collected over Rs. 41 lakh.

The Collector appealed to the people to make liberal contributions to the Flag Day fund this year too.

Assistant Director of Ex-servicemen Welfare office D. Sangeetha presented the letter of appreciation from Tamil Nadu Governor to Mr. Sagayam for the district’s performance in the Flag Day fund collection.

Participating in another meeting, the Collector lauded 11 officials for their ‘Best Performance’ in mobilizing small savings deposits.

Target

The government had fixed Rs. 200 crore as the target for the district in small savings deposit mobilization.

He asked the officials to encourage people to invest in the small savings schemes. Senior officials were present at the meeting.
