Zaheer’s tips to finalists

NEW DELHI: Eight finalists of the ‘Dabur Glucose-D Ace of Pace,’ a nationwide talent hunt programme, received some finer tips on fast bowling from India pacer Zaheer Khan at the Roshanara Club ground here on Monday.

The youngsters, selected from among thousands of aspirants, went through three kinds of competition — Speed Gun, Super Over and Bowl Out — before they got the chance to interact with Zaheer and seek tips to improve their bowling.

Speaking on the programme, Zaheer said, “The idea is to give the kids a platform to train under someone’s supervision. It reminds me of my younger days.”

The youngsters who made the final stage of the programme are: Bharat Shinde, Rony Mitra, Sudhanshu Kumar Sharma and Rizwan Khan in the senior category and Baban Bhalerao, Pritam Chakraborty, Sourav Chakraboti and Sanjay Kumar in the junior category.

The two winners of the talent hunt will be enrolled in a reputed academy in the Capital to sharpen their skills.
