Prof. Gnana Asir’s services recalled

Chennai: Sports administrators and physical education experts joined together last Friday to condole the death of Prof. Gnana Asir, former Principal of YMCA College of Physical Education.

Walter I. Dawaram, a YMCA College alumnus and the current President of the Tamil Nadu Athletics Association, unveiled a portrait of Prof. Asir.

The meeting recalled the contribution of Prof. Asir to the cause of education and physical education.

The speakers included Dr. Sheela Stephen, Principal, YMCA College of Physical Education, M. Sathyaseelan, former Physical Director, Loyola College, M. Raman, former Director of Physical Education, Anna University, M.S. Nagarajan, Administrator, Special Olympics, Chandrasekhar, P. Nagarajan, chief athletics coach, Prime Sports Academy, Dr. Kannan Pughalendi, Medical Officer, YMCA College and Dr. David Manuel Raj, former YMCA College of PE principal.
