Broom helps NZ ‘A’ clinch thriller

CHENNAI: Neil Broom’s 104 (157b, 10x4, 4x6) was the highlight of New Zealand A’s thrilling one-wicket victory over TNCA ‘A’ in the two-day practice game that concluded at the MAC Stadium here on Monday.

Only one delivery remained in this 90-overs-a-side contest when the visitor scampered home.

The scores: TNCA ‘A’ 293 in 87 overs (L. Suryapprakash 50, A. Venkataraman 51, Suresh Babu 62 n.o., N. McCullum five for 85) lost to New Zealand ‘A’ 294 for nine in 89.5 overs (A. Redmond 41, J. How 41, N. Broom 104).
