Pathanamthitta, Kannur win

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Pathanamthitta and Kannur won the boys’ and girls’ titles in the State handball championships at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium here on Tuesday.

Pathanamthitta overcame Kannur 32-20 in the boys’ final. Malappuram edged out Thiruvananthapuram 14-13 to finish third. Kannur overcame Thiruvananthapuram 13-12 to clinch the girls’ crown. Kozhikode beat Malappuram 7-6 to take the third spot. — Principal Correspondent
