Medal belongs to Mattur Krishnamurthy

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Padmashri medal that was found at the venue of the unveiling of saint-poet Thiruvalluvar statue has been traced to Mattur Krishnamurthy, Executive Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

The medal was found at the VVIP enclosure in the RBANMS Grounds where the function was held on Sunday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Public Relations) V. Ramaiah said that Mr. Krishamurthy was seated in the front row in the VVIP enclosure. “The medal, which was loosely attached to his shirt, fell down while he was returning from the venue,” Mr. Ramaiah said.
