STEPS: P. Senthil Kumar (right), Commissioner, Municipal Administration, at Rameswaram on Friday. RAMANATHAPURAM: P. Senthil Kumar, Commissioner, Municipal Administration, has directed the Rameswaram municipal authorities to take effective steps to prevent mixing of drainage water into sea. He was inspecting various parts in the municipality, which is attracting a large number of tourists daily, on Friday. Accompanied by the Collector T.N. Hariharan, he took a serious note on seeing the mixing of waste and polluted water into the sea at Agnitheerthakadarkarai. He also directed the officials to keep the municipal limit, particularly residential areas and tourists friendly locations, neat and clean. The conservancy workers should be properly and systematically used to maintain the town well. Mr. Kumar visited Villunditheertham, Lakshmantheertham, Seethatheertham, Ramartheertham, Angitheertham, Ramar patham, Olaikuda and other places. He also visited Muhuntharayarchathiram, Dhanushkodi and Arichamunai. He discussed the possibility of laying road up to Dhanushkodi with officials.
