Central library to lend reference books

CHENNAI: Devaneya Pavanar District Central Library has introduced a new scheme to lend reference books to the IAS aspirants on Wednesday.
Chennai District Library Officer S. Jeevarathinam said that the scheme was launched as part of the birth anniversary celebrations of Father of Indian Library Science, S. R. Ranganathan.
The civil service aspirants may now borrow reference books after paying a deposit of Rs.250.
About 1,035 candidates would benefit through this scheme.A total of 100 persons were provided with the library membership free of cost at a function organised at the facility on Anna Salai.
