Plot foiled

EXPLOSIVES HAUL: A plot to trigger blasts in Assam on Independence Day was foiled, with the recovery of explosives and arms from the Ukium area on the Assam-Meghalaya border on Friday, during a joint operation by the Assam Police, the Army and Central Reserve Police Force personnel. The United Liberation Front of Asom, the National Democratic Front of Bodoland and several other militant outfits have given a call to boycott Independence Day celebrations.
