Rohit and Karthik excel

MYSORE: A century by opener Rohit Tiwari (103, 16x4s) and a five-wicket haul by left-arm spinner Karthik Raghavan helped Mysore Zone register a facile six-wicket win over Dharwad Zone in the KSCA Inter-zonal cricket tournament at the PET (Mandya) grounds on Friday.

In the other matches, Mangalore registered a 30-run win over Raichur at the Maharaja’s College grounds, while at the Gangothri Glades, Tumkur beat Shimoga by eight wickets.

The scores:

Dharwad 200 in 52 overs (Shishir Bhavani 51, Anirudh B. Joshi 40, Karthik Raghavan five for 50) lost to Mysore 203 for four in 51.1 overs (Rohit Tiwari 103, Md. Imran Khan 40).

Mangalore 162 in 36.1 overs (H.H. Vinod 53, Janardhan 28, Sanjay Nayak seven for 47) bt Raichur 132 in 40.2 overs (Alok Deshpande 30, K. Naveen 30, Daniel Sequira five for 35, K. Sunith four for 39).

Shimoga 115 in 31.5 overs (Rakesh Jinka three for 12) lost to Tumkur 116 for two in 28.1 overs (Anup Singh 44, Nazir Ali 36).
