Gill seeks FIFA’s help

NEW DELHI: Union Sports Minister, M.S. Gill, has sought the help of international football federation (FIFA) to boost the Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA).

During his visit to the FIFA headquarters in Zurich last Wednesday, Gill thanked FIFA for its support to India and explained about PYKKA to its officials. He requested FIFA’s support for the programme as it would help in the development of football at the grassroots level in India.

It was decided that the Sports Ministry and the All India Football Federation (AIFF) would prepare a report and send it to FIFA for its inputs to take the scheme forward.

“The state and district football associations will be involved in the initiative. ,” AIFF General Secretary Alberto Colaco said here on Friday. — Sports Reporter
