Seven killed, eight injured by lightning

Garwah/Dumka: Seven persons including three students were killed and eight others suffered injuries after lightning struck at different places in Jharkhand, police sources have said.

Four persons including three students were killed and three others injured after thunderbolt struck them at different places in Dumka on Thursday night, sources said.

A 20-year-old woman, Manju Devi, was killed on the spot while her husband, Laltu Shil (28) sustained severe burn injuries when thunderbolt struck them at Kharsuni village.

Sixteen-year-old Arun Kumar Thakurin Kolua village of Garwah district was killed after lightning struck him , sources said.

Another person, Arun Kumar, who was working in his paddy field was charred to death when lightning struck him, sources said .
