ERODE: The State Government should come forward to set up satellite townships in all districts, Federation of All Civil Engineers Associations of Tamil Nadu has suggested. In a press release issued here, the Federation demanded shifting bus stands, shopping centres outside the main city so as to decongest cities and towns. The Federation also urged the government to grant powers to municipal corporations in the State to accord permission for structures with over three floors, setting up a council of engineers on the lines of council of architects.and inclusion of engineers in local planning committee among others.
