Ex-NCERT director gets UNESCO award

NEW DELHI: The former director of the NCERT, J. S. Rajput, was presented the 2004 Jan Amos Comenius Award by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) on Wednesday.

Although Dr. Rajput was selected for the award in 2004, UNESCO withdrew the nomination in January 2005 after the HRD Ministry suggested that the award be kept in abeyance in view of certain enquiries against him.
